Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Arielle Clarke is a recent graduate of Columbia University, having obtained a bachelor’s degree with honors in Neuroscience & Behavior and African American and African Diaspora Studies. Having served three terms as a Representative for fellow Scholars on the JRF Scholar Leadership Council, Arielle found a special home in the empowering community forged at JRF. Desiring to foster health equity-driven spaces on campus, she served as a Health Educator, Leadership Council member, and Coordinator for Students for Health Education, Access, and Literacy (S-HEAL), an organization increasing accessibility to health instruction for under-resourced high school students, in addition to conducting intensive research on racial stereotyping, tutoring at the Center for Student Advising, and supporting course administration as a teaching assistant in Columbia’s Psychology Department.
Continuing the next phase of her journey as a full-time Project Assistant at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center, she is excited to craft welcoming spaces to coordinate access to medical care for patients in the Washington Heights community.
