Schanica Pickens Rolling is a visionary higher education leader, educator, and advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), with more than a decade of experience advancing student success and institutional transformation. She currently serves as Director of Student Affairs at the Columbia University School of Social Work, where she oversees student services, student life, and career support, working to create a holistic and equitable student experience.

Prior to joining Columbia, Ms. Rolling spent 15 years at Adelphi University in a range of progressive leadership roles supporting student engagement, academic success, and program development. Her final role at Adelphi was Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and Director of the Master of Social Work (MSW) Program, where she provided strategic leadership with a strong focus on supporting historically underserved and marginalized student populations. Her work was recognized with the Adelphi Presidential Award for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in 2022.

Ms. Rolling earned her undergraduate degree from SUNY Oswego and her Master of Social Work from New York University. She is deeply committed to advancing racial equity, fostering inclusive learning environments, and elevating student voice within higher education.
