Captain Sifri began her career at American University in 2004 as a Sergeant of the evening shift. After a few years, she was promoted to Lieutenant in charge of the crime prevention program as well as special events management. During her tenure as a Lieutenant, she was also assigned to lead other units such as the Communications and Physical Security units.
In 2019, she was promoted to the rank of Captain and the Assistant Director of Administration and Community Engagement. She now oversees the administration units and handles all the community engagement for AUPD. Over her almost 19-year career, she has obtained numerous instructor certifications, been assigned to the Consortium of Universities Police Academy as the director and deputy director and mentored several officers who have been promoted within the department. She takes her obligation to keep everyone safe very seriously and really enjoys interacting with the AU community. AU is where she belongs and believes that everyone, she has encountered has made her a better person, officer, and leader.
