Rachel Evans ‘10

Marketing Manager

Deloitte

Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, IL., the importance of education was instilled in Rachel Evans by both her family and the unashamedly black/unapologetically Christian church she grew up in. Her church home introduced her to HBCUs and helped her find the perfect fit at Hampton University, where she received her B.S. and Master’s in Business Administration. She was fortunate to receive the Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF) scholarship, and the Extra Innings scholarship for her master’s program, to support her both financially and in leadership development throughout her education. Deloitte, one of the Big four professional services firms in the country, was named her JRF sponsor.

Ms. Evans sees her paid internship at Deloitte as an additional benefit of her scholarship. She served as a marketing intern in Chicago every summer of her undergraduate and graduate career. She joined Deloitte’s marketing team full-time post-graduation in 2012 and currently leads marketing for Deloitte’s MADE (Making Accounting Diverse and Equitable) commitment, launched in June of 2021. In this role, she combines her passion for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives with her skills in marketing to promote programs targeted towards Black and Hispanic/Latinx individuals interested in joining and excelling in the accounting profession. She’s previously served in marketing roles at Deloitte supporting financial advisory services, consumer and life sciences industries, private companies and private equity firms, and general marketing operations for webcasts and email marketing.

Ms. Evans currently lives in Charlotte, NC and enjoys spending time with family and friends, while staying active via cycling, practicing yoga and tennis. She serves in the Charlotte Chapter of the National Hampton Alumni Association and is a member of the W.I.S.H. (Women Inspiring Strength and Hope) Society for Make-A-Wish Central and Western North Carolina.
