Dr. Makeda Robinson studied public health as an undergraduate at Johns Hopkins University during her time as a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholar. She went on to earn her MD and Ph.D. from Stanford University School of Medicine and is currently a faculty member at the University studying Infectious Diseases. Her research has taken her around the world where she studied malaria treatments in Ethiopia and Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine approaches in China. She is currently focused on understanding virus-host interactions in the setting of emerging viruses such as dengue and COVID-19. Dr. Robinson has been working to spread evidence-based information about the pandemic through her commentary on current issues surrounding the COVID-19 response in major media outlets including CNBC, USA Today, and The Huffington Post. She is also the co-founder of an angel investment company focused on supporting companies developing innovative diagnostic and AI approaches to improve the efficiency and safety of healthcare delivery.
