Milestone Class of 2028 Represents 23 States at 43 Colleges and Universities

Representing a half-century’s worth of accumulative accomplishment and following in the footsteps of generations that paved the paths before them, the recipients of this year’s Jackie Robinson Scholarships embark on their educational journey in celebration of 50 years of exceptional academic achievement.

This year’s class of 54 distinguished Scholars hail from 23 of the United States of America and the District of Columbia and will begin their first years of college at 43 educational institutions across the country this fall.

The 50th anniversary JRF class of 2028 includes six (6) valedictorians, three (3) salutatorians, three (3) class presidents, seven (7) members of the National Honor Society and 35% of the selected Scholars graduated in the top 10th percentile of their high school classes.

The 54 newly minted freshman Scholars were selected from more than 5,000 applications. Selected JRF Scholars receive scholarships funding of up to $35,000 distributed over four academic calendar years and financial sponsorship to attend the foundation’s annual, four-day “Mentoring and Leadership Conference” in New York City as well as conferences and events throughout the year. In addition to foundational financial support, Scholars enrolled in the four-year program enjoy access to career guidance, culturally enriching travel abroad, internships and permanent job placement, as well as leadership and practical hands-on life skills training.

For 50 years JRF has provided $124 million in scholarships and direct program support for nearly 2,000 students.

The JRF Scholarship application opens September 1, 2024. Visit https://jackierobinson.org/apply for more information.
