1. What causes do you care about?
At BMO Capital Markets we recognize the importance of building strong communities in which to live in and work. We support many charitable organizations that work to that end, including hospitals, health care organizations, mentorship programs and scholarship funds.
2. What motivated you to support the Jackie Robinson Foundation and our Scholars?
Access to education is a key focus of our corporate philanthropy at BMO Capital Markets. In 2005, we developed the Equity Through Education program, which provides scholarships for bright and deserving students who may not otherwise have been able to afford college. The Jackie Robinson Foundation was an excellent fit for that program, and has been a partner since inception. During that time, BMO has provided $3.5 million dollars and sponsored 28 JRF/BMO Capital Markets Scholars.
3. Who has benefited as a result of your charitable donations and support?
To date, the Equity Through Education program has donated more than $26 million to charitable organizations in Canada, the U.S. and Europe that provide scholarships to exceptional students. These funds have assisted more than 5,000 students.
4. How can Scholars learn more about and how to get involved with BMO Capital Markets?
The Careers section of our website outlines our different employment opportunities and deadlines for application. You can also learn more about what we are doing charitably by visiting the In The Community page.
