Fountain Walker

Vice President, Global Campus Safety

New York University

Fountain Walker is the Vice President of Global Campus Safety at New York University.  He is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of over 70,000 University affiliates across 221 campus buildings in Brooklyn and Manhattan, as well as over a dozen Global Campus Centers around the globe. Fountain oversees 400 public safety personnel, including Transportation Services, Investigative Services, Special Events, and Uniformed Security Services. Prior to his role at NYU, he was he Chief of Police at the University of Chicago and Davidson College in North Carolina.

With over 25 years of experience in law enforcement and campus security, Fountain has developed core competencies in evidence, law enforcement, firearms handling, crisis intervention, and emergency management. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Gardner-Webb University, a Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling from Liberty University, a Police Staff and Command certificate from Northwestern University, and a certificate of completion from Harvard Management and Leadership in Education. His mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment for the diverse and global community of NYU, and to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation in campus safety.
