Northrop Grumman and the Northrop Grumman Foundation are committed to expanding and enhancing the pipeline of diverse, talented STEM students globally. They provide funding to sustainable STEM programs that span from preschool to high school and through collegiate levels, with a major emphasis on middle school students and teachers. In in 2016 Northrop Grumman and the Northrop Grumman Foundation continued outreach efforts by contributing $19.2 million to diverse STEM-related groups such as the Air Force Association (CyberPatriot), the REC Foundation (VEX Robotics), National Science Teachers Association, and the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering.
1. What causes do you care about?
While we certainly care about many causes around the world, we have narrowed our focus to four areas: STEM education, military and veterans, the environment and health and human services. Northrop Grumman spends a great deal of time in the STEM education arena, as the development of a diverse pipeline of STEM talent is critical to the success of our company and our global security.
2. What motivated you to support the Jackie Robinson Foundation and our Scholars?
The Jackie Robinson Foundation has a legacy of promoting the educational advancement of underserved populations. Jackie Robinson broke barriers to help ensure everyone had incredible opportunities and the Jackie Robinson Foundation is doing the same for talented, well-deserving students.
